Text - Hogosha 7.9k points 21 hours ago S The work turn over is going to be in this thread a lot but you should also look for large gaps in tenure. If there are people that have been in a company for under a year and people that have been there for over ten and nothing in between that means you have just walked into a good ol' boys club. Text - cjdeck1 5.6k points 18 hours ago This happened at my old job: During my annual review, boss did the standard "where do you see yourself in 5 years" question. I gave him a rather generic answer consistent with my goals. At the end of the review, I turned the question around and asked where he hoped to see me in 5 years. He beat around the bush with it, but the answer was basically "doing the same exact thing". I left the job a couple months later

Text - tinhtinh 5.4k points 20 hours ago Glassdoor reviews shouldn't be taken too seriously but if there's a constant then there's usually a good reason. It doesn't hurt to be especially cautious.

Text - -Unnamed- 4.5k points 19 hours ago With newer or smaller companies, be wary of "top-heavy" staff. 10 employees but 5 owners/principals? Guess where all the salary money is going. Plus have fun having as many bosses as coworkers

Text - kaimead125 2.9k points 21 hours ago If they are vague about what you'll be doing, don't do it. I've been to a bunch of interviews, and those always turn out to be awful mlm scheme type jobs.

Text - SneakRightByYaBud 1.9k points 21 hours ago Effort in the offer. Ive seen so many job offers like "must be able to lift 50 lbs, email for details." Legit jobs leave it ALL out there when they are looking for employees. What they expect, company mission, etc. You should look for companies that try too weed out people with a wall of text. The longer their advertisement is, with more information then you think you need, the better. Most companies have a "script" that was thought up by people

Text - UrTheologyNeedsWork 4.3k points 20 hours ago When people act literally fearful of the boss, or if the entire atmosphere changes when the boss walks onto the floor. If your manager doesn't take you around to introduce you to your new colleagues, I'd be concerned because that would show they don't care who you are

Text - shugerbooger 1.8k points 17 hours ago I used to work at a European flag-manufacturing company. We produced flags for almost every country on the globe, including (perhaps surprisingly) several nations of the Eastern Bloc (I'm dating myself here, I know). One time we had an order from the USSR to produce an unusually large edited 3 hours ago Soviet Union flag. The dimensions of this thing were something like 20x35 metres. It weighed over 80 kg.
